Introduction
My name is Abigail Oldnettle and I mainly go by Abby. I am a freshman and my major is Elementary Education. My hobbies include petting my two cats (even though we are apart right now) and watching a lot of Netflix and Youtube. I also watch a lot of movies... it's kind of a bad habit.
My prior experiences with educational technology is mainly the basic stuff like smart boards, Google classroom, Edmodo, Kahoot. My teachers would also take advantage of the projectors and use PowerPoint a lot but for the most part, kept it pretty basic. Our school also had a cart of Chromebooks and iPads that would be used in different classes. In middle and elementary school we would also use Khan Academy and BrainPop but those never helped much.
In this class, I would hope to learn a wide variety of technology that will be fun and easy to use for younger children. I think some technology is too advanced and ends up with a lot of technological issues and would be easier to just keep it basic. I want to widen my knowledge of programs out there and learn completely new ones because I might end up really liking them and using them in the future. I am excited to become a teacher in the time that this technology exists and am hoping to take advantage of it while also not being too complicated.

I won't say watching Netflix and movies is a bad habit but it also gives you some interesting/ new perspectives just like reading.
