The school website I visited was for Florida State University Schools. The teacher website specifically visited was Sarah Stevens' website, who teaches Kindergarten. Most of the teachers websites are on the FSUS website and don't lead to another tab or site, so no 'log-in' is really needed for parents or students, all information is public. Ms. Stevens' website had tabs as suspected, like "About Teacher" and different resources for parents and news/ calendar to give head ups about events. This seems to be the typical website set up for many other teachers at the school too, regardless of grade level. The higher grades seem have extra tabs dedicated to the different classes/ periods they teach, but follow the basic set up as seen in screeshot. https://www.fsus.school/Domain/355

I do like the idea of having a teacher website, but if the school doesn't require using their own website, I would want to use an external site such as Wix.com to create my teacher website. Although there might be more ease of access by using the school website, I feel there is a lot more personalization that can be done on a website like Wix.com. You can get more of a feel of the teachers personality and interests with a more creative website. I feel using a teacher website is very helpful to parents and helps spread announcements about up coming events effectively, especially if the website has a subscription aspect for parents to sign up for through email. They can be alerted of any changes or updates/posts to the website that are important for them to know.

At the Technology Sandbox, we saw a wide variety of technology for many different proficiency levels. Not all the technology was built specifically for the classroom, but during the tour they showed many programs and ways that the technology could be implemented for many grade levels. Specifically, we learned about the Clear Touch Interactive Display. It is practically a giant touch-screen tablet that is on wheels and can be adjusted vertically and the screen can move to be completely flat or like a TV. It has many educational games or regular games displayed on the huge screen that the children can play. For example, during the tour, the screen was splint into two, one side having a piano and the other side having an interactive math game. The screen can be split into more sections that just two so many students can use the Clear Touch at a time and be doing different activities. There are many uses for the Clear Touch and they come in different sizes so I can see myself using it in the classroom like how it was used during the tour, multiple programs on the screen at once, so many children can get use out of it, helping different skills.
