"The Flipped Classroom" is a different type of teaching that has emerged. It is an "inverted" way of teaching that involves the introduction of material to be one at home. The students read and learn about the necessary material at home, either online or in books, and then the knowledge learned at home is built upon or deepened through activities and discussions. The actives or worksheets done in class are the things that would traditionally be considered "homework" but in the flipped classroom are to deepen the understanding. I feel like the traditional system of schooling would work better then the flipped classroom because if a student doesn't have access or time to do the reading of the material at home, in class the next they day they will be confused and behind. Using the traditional school system, at least the student can learn the material in school, even if they aren't able to do the homework after class.
Open Educational Resources (OER) are educational resources that are open to the public for free and can be used by anyone. They are open to the public domain to be freely and legally used, copied, adapted and re-shared. They could be online textbooks, worksheets, videos and etc. One website I found lists 16 different OER sites that are especially good for educators. The sites listed have an abundance of text books that have been peer reviewed for sustainability, practice questions, information for students with disabilities, organizations and other tools.

During the two PowerPoint assignments, I really got to utilize the new skills I was showed and learned how to use them more. One skill that I really tried used a lot was the concept of contrast, repetition, alignment and proximity. Using this concept when designing your slides really helps it be easy to read and aesthetically pleasing so that was a skill I learned more about. Another skill I learned a lot more about was the timing of animations and transitions. I knew about them before but I learned a lot more about the timing and setting delays or for them to play with other animations as well. I really enjoyed both of the PowerPoint assignments and am pleased with how mine turned out. I don't think I really want to improve anything.
